Join us for the world's first Synthwave-themed tufting workshop located in Austin, Texas! Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or simply looking for a unique and fun experience, you can enjoy the art of rug making.  During the workshop, you will be led by our expert tufters to ensure you have the best time and leave with the craft of your choice made with the highest quality material.  

If you and Snake just ‘Escaped from New York’ and need a place to hideout, secure your spot for you, your friends & family. No creative or artistic skills are needed. The Outrun Hour welcomes you to come and connect with friends & family, have a date night over one of our mocktails, or just come and escape solo.

At The Outrun Hour, we provide everything you need to create one-of-a-kind, custom-tufted rugs that reflect your personal style and taste!

We offer the Materials, supplies, tufting gun, tufting frames with 3 sizes to choose from, and over 90 colors of yarn.  Don’t forget those refreshing mocktails are available too!

The Outrun Hour Process & Things To Know

Reserve & Upload Photos

  • To reserve at The Outrun Hour, please complete an intake form with your reservation details, choose your project/size, and upload any design photos for yourself and your group.

  • Waivers must be signed before service. Instructions will be sent after your reservation is confirmed by an Outrun Hour employee.

Arriving early & Rug Durations

  • Arriving early ensures you and your group are ready to start your craft on time.

  • Standard Tufting: Between 1.5 - 6 hours per session.

    Keyboard rug: Between 1.5 to 2 hours

    Skateboard Rugs 2.5 - 3 hours

Tuft Training & Grab a drink!

  • Upon arrival, you’ll be introduced to The Outrun Hour process and receive guidance on your chosen craft.

Create and have fun!

  • After you create your piece, leave the finishing touches to us! The Outrun Hour team will handle rug shearing, gluing, and cleanup to perfect your design. This process may take 30 minutes to the end of the day, depending on the number of reservations during your visit.
